Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said on Sunday that Islamic Republic of Iran, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan will take part in a joint project for construction of a railway connecting cities in three countries to each other, IRNA reported.

Upon his arrival in Ashgabat Airport, Foreign Minister Salehi told reporters that construction of the railway will play an important role in boosting trade transactions of three countries.

More than 300 people were evacuated on Wednesday from the Kostenko coalmine in Central Kazakhstan's Karaganda Region, the republic's emergencies ministry said .

"A total of 319 people have been evacuated. No casualties have been reported," the ministry said in a statement.

British oil explorer Max Petroleum has signed a contract with Saipem, a subsidiary of Eni, for a National 1625 DE onshore drilling rig for its deep, pre-salt exploration program in Kazakhstan, Energy Business Review reported.
